Official Statement Regarding the Incident on Chaweng Beach
We are aware of the deeply offensive incident that occurred on the 20/08/2025 on the public beach outside our venue, not inside ARKbar. A guest, wearing a mask purchased from a local beach vendor, engaged in offensive behaviour. This conduct is abhorrent and goes against everything ARKbar stands for.
We want to be clear:
1.) ARKbar does not condone or tolerate hate symbols, discriminatory actions, or offensive behaviour.
2.) This incident happened outside our venue, and the mask was not provided by ARKbar. Although we cannot control the actions of individuals on the public beach, we immediately reported the matter to police and are working with local authorities to ensure these items are no longer sold near our venue.
3.) Our staff will receive further instructions to act immediately should such incidents occur again in or around our premises.
To our guests, and especially to those who felt offended or hurt - we deeply apologise. ARKbar is, and always will be, a place for unity, music, and celebration, not division.
